Paiy grew up primarily in Ethiopia and has lived in 4 countries on 3 continents which has shaped her exquisite global taste for culture and design. At the age of 16 she was discovered by a modeling agency and whisked away to work on international runways. She modeled for designers in New York, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and more. Amidst the glamour, her interest has always been in business and the creative. In her early twenties she led a cosmetics start-up venture. Although she did not gain financial success, she quickly realized the obstacles women entrepreneurs need to overcome. Despite roadblock after roadblock, she persisted and found mentors who genuinely believed in her vision. Each time she came back more experienced and stronger than ever gaining success along the way. Paiy is a cognizant humanitarian who uses her platform to give back and raise awareness. She financially supports organizations against human trafficking and works with victims of war crimes with an emphasis on women and children. An active donor and member of The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation she believes in preserving the health of our planet and environment. Additionally, Paiy has backed and aided prenatal healthcare for women in developing nations. For the past 15 years, Paiy has sponsored the education for children in underdeveloped countries.
